Review From
Ottawa Bluesfest 2015
Bluesfest has scored a hat trick with a third straight day of fabulous Blues delivered in the early evening from the Monster Energy Stage, this time courtesy of veterans THE KINSEY REPORT. The Kinsey brothers – vocalist/guitarist Donald, drummer/vocalist Ralph, and bassist/vocalist Kenneth – tabled what was arguably the most definitive of the blues sets to date, yet with melodies as memorable as any great pop song and Donald’s vocals as soulful as many greats of R&B. Especially poignant was their rendition of “When The Church Burned Down”, dedicated to the recent shootings in Charleston, South Carolina.
